Everything you need to know...

A tandem skydive is an experience which allows you to parachute securely attached to an experienced instructor.

After a thorough briefing lasting about 30 minutes the jump is made from approximately 12,000 feet and includes a freefall of 30-40 seconds before your instructor opens the parachute. Although you may be given an opportunity to steer the parachute, the instructor remains in control at all times.

Online booking

When using our online bookings facility you will be asked to specify a date for your skydive. This date is not confirmed until you receive either an email or written confirmation by post. We will try and accommodate your preferred date but if it is not available we will email alternatives and wait for a reply before confirming. If you prefer to book and pay over the phone, please call the office.

Payment options

We require a £100 non-refundable deposit to confirm a date. Remaining balances are payable on the morning of the jump during registration.

We accept the following types of payment:

Times

Skydiving at Headcorn takes place everyday, weather permitting. During summer the centre is open 7 days a week whilst in winter we are closed on Monday. The safety briefing and jump are completed in one day. Skydiving is an all day activity and customers should be prepared to spend the whole day at the airfield, particularly on weekends.

We ask you to arrive at the airfield:

  • Weekend 8.30 am
  • Tuesday-Friday 10.00 am
  • Monday 1.00 pm. (Summer time only)
Restrictions

For safety reasons we cannot accept men over 14½ stone (92kgs) and women over 13½stone (86kgs) fully clothed and, consequently, you may be weighed during registration.

You must be at least 16 years of age. Under 18s require parental/guardian consent. Everyone must sign a declaration of fitness. Anyone 40 years or over must have the declaration signed and stamped by their doctor. Forms will be provided on request.

There is no upper age limit for tandems.

You will be asked if you require this service on the day of your jump. Alternatively, to guarantee a cameraperson, you may pay for this service now. Visit AirAffair's website to make a booking. (Bluray subject to availability).

Weather

Please note we can only jump in the following suitable weather conditions:

  • The wind must be less than 20kts (24mph)
  • Cloud must not restrict our view of the landing area from the aircraft
  • Visibility must be at least 5km

If the weather does not allow the jump to take place on your booked day, we ask that you return as soon as possible, and within six months, to make your jump.

Clothing

Please wear something comfortable and appropriate for the time of year. Training shoes are the best footwear. A jumpsuit, hat, gloves and goggles will be provided.

Facilities

The airfield is open to the public and there is a full-time canteen on site serving hot & cold snacks & drinks. Spectators are very welcome, but there are only limited facilities for babies and young children. The parachute landing area is approximately a quarter of a mile away and is off limits to members of the public.

Alcohol and Drugs

The consumption of alcohol is prohibited prior to jumping and alcohol may not be consumed on the airfield until parachuting has finished for the day. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused their jump and will forfeit any monies paid.

Safety

The sport is governed by very strict rules and regulations laid down by the British Parachute Association (BPA).
